Dear Tomiko,

Thank you for your present. I really needed a new shirt. It was lovely.

I have been at English conversation school now for nearly one month. The time is going very quickly and I will be coming back to Japan very soon. The town I live in is called York. It is a very old town with many beautiful and historical buildings. The family I am staying with, the Lincolns, have been very, very kind to me. We have been sightseeing in the York Minister, the Shambles and on the city's walls. The Shambles is a strange, old and narrow street where the houses on each side of the road almost touch each other. It was incredible.

Tomorrow, we are going to London, and then to Paris. We will be going on the Eurostar train. It goes through a tunnel under the sea between England and France. It is like the Seikan tunnel between Hokkaido and Honshu. While in France we will see the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe. I will also meet up with Yusuke, who is in France studying French. I have not seen him for a long time.

I don't think I ever want to go back home, but I know I must.

Please write soon.

Love,
Aiko
