Akita Budokan

The Akita Kenritsu Budōkan (秋田県立武道館) is a martial arts building located on the banks of the Akita Canal, next to the prefectural skating center in the Araya district of Akita City. This is where the Akita International Sumo Basho has been held since 2007.

Directions

• From the South

  Take Route 13 or Route 7 into Akita City. Continue north towards Tenno on Route 7. Turn left on Route 65 and go over a bridge. You will immediately see the Budokan on your left.

• From the North

  Take Route 7 into Akita City. Turn right onto Route 65 and go over a bridge. You will immediately see the Budokan on your left.

• By Bus from Akita Station

  From Gate #2 take the Kenritsu Pool Line　(県立プール)　to the Budokan stop Budokan (武道館).
