Comparitive

When comparing two objects, we use the comparative. A comparative is an adjective ending in "er". For long adjectives, we use more + adjective.

  • Jon is faster than Mike.
  • My pizza is bigger than yours.
  • This book is more interesting than that one.

When comparing 3 or more objects, we use the superlative. A superlative is an adjective ending in "est". For long adjectives, we use the most + adjective.

  • Mike is the slowest runner of all.
  • Chocolate ice cream is the tastiest ice cream.
  • Transformers is the most interesting movie this year.

To say two things are equal, we use a simile.

  • Jake is as tall as Mike.
  • Coffee is as necessary as food.
