This song, composed by Soul singer Ben E. King in 1961, was used in the film Stand by Me. Many people sang it. Especially famous was John Lennon. Ben E. King made it famous in the 1960s and 1980s, and John Lennon did so in the 1970s, keeping it popular over the generations.'
