Preparation
- Buy a ball of yarn.
- Find a class that isn't shy. Shy classes won't work for this.
Description
Step 1
- Students stand in a circle.
- Hold the ball of yarn and introduce yourself. For example, 'My name is ___. I am your teacher. I am from ___....
- Hold on to the end of the string and throw the yarn to a student across from you.
- That student gives a self-introduction and throws the yarn to another student, while holding the string.
- Repeat until everyone has gone.
Step 2
- Everyone sits down.
- Each student rolls the ball of yarn to the person who threw it to them during Step 1.
- As each student rolls the ball of yarn, that student ask the student to whom the ball of yarn is being rolled a question.
- As the student to whom the ball of yarn was rolled answers the question, that student winds up the slack around the ball of yarn.
