Talk:Junior high school speech contest

From Akita Wiki
  • If a speech takes less than 2 minutes to deliver, it's probably not good for the speech contest, so don't post it here. Douglaspperkins 13:02, 15 August 2008 (JST)
    • I think that could be debated Douglas. In some smaller schools around Yuzawa we occassionally had first-year students give short speeches. They obviously didn't win, but it was a positive experience for them to practice speaking in front of a large group of people. I'd say post even the short speeches here. --Dan 13:53, 15 August 2008 (JST)
  • "Only the textbooks themselves are legal sources -- recitations from teachers manuals are not acceptable."
Are you sure about this? Do you have some form of reference? As some of the current speeches on this page are from manuals owencunn 14:54, 8 January 2010 (JST)
We have no proof that these recitations are illegal. Some are used in speech cometitions. Just because we obtained them from teachers manuals does not mean that they did not originally appear in a MEXT approved textbook.owencunn 15:37, 21 September 2011 (JST)

Short recitations

  • This seems to be a section that is unnecessary. Many of the speeches under this heading are as long as other speeches. And we could speculate till the cows come home about what the judges think. The Spider's Thread can be read in 2.5 minutes, but that is surly not a short speech. I recommend removing this section and merging with the speeches above. owencunn 15:37, 21 September 2011 (JST)
