Yuri Town

Yuri Town (由利町; yuri machi) is a town located in Yurihonjo City, Akita, Japan.

History

• On 22^nd March, 2005 Yuri town merged with Honjo city, and the towns of Chokai, Higashi Yuri, Iwaki, Nishime, Ouchi and Yashima to form Yurihonjo city.

Festivals

List of all Yurihonjo festivals

• Yuri Kōgen Snow Festival (由利高原雪まつり)

  This festival takes place at the end of February.

• Chōkai Kōgen Yurihara Festival (鳥海高原由利原まつり)

  This festival takes place on the 1st Sunday in August every year at Minami Yuirhara Kōgen　Seishōnen Ryōko Mura(南由利原高原 青少年旅行村). You can enjoy singing, dancing and fireworks!
  From Honjo take R108. Immediatly after crossing the train tracks turn right and travel about 12km.

• Yashiki Bangaku (屋敷番楽)

  This festival is on the 16^th August.

• Yuri Kōgen Cosmos Festival (由利高原コスモスまつり)

  Takes place from the start to the end of September.
