Preparation

  • Make worksheets for everyone.

Rules

  1. Make groups of 4-6.
  2. Give each group a picture of an animal. Each group has a different animal. Each group keeps its animal secret.
  3. Each person in the group writes one sentence about the animal. The sentences should all begin, "This is an animal which ...". For example:
    • This is an animal which is smart.
    • This is an animal which is blue and grey.
    • This is an animal which lives in the sea.
  4. One person in each group stays seated and reads the sentences to anyone who comes and asks. Everyone else in each group goes to other groups and asks to hear their sentences. 5 minutes.
  5. Everyone sits down in their groups. Each group discusses what they think the other groups' animals are. After 5 minutes, check the answers.

Variations

  • This game drills the relative pronoun "which". If you use pictures of famous people, you can use the relative pronoun "who".
