Brown fried rice

Brown fried rice is an easy to make, delicious, egg-free fried rice dish.

Ingredients

  • 3 bowls of cooked brown rice (cold)
  • 10g hijiki - chopped into short pieces and steeped in water
  • ⅓ carrot - diced
  • 1 onion - diced
  • 3 shiitake mushrooms - diced
  • ¼ lotus root - diced
  • 1 square cm of fresh ginger - finely diced
  • Sesame oil - small amount
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • Nori - small amount
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 5g iwashibushi (いわし節)

Directions

  1. Heat the sesame oil in a frying pan, then sauté the mushrooms, onions, carrot, ginger and lotus root.
  2. Drain, rinse and add the hijiki, and stir frequently.
  3. Add the brown rice and mix well.
  4. Add the soy sauce and mix well.
  5. Add the sesame seeds and iwashibushi and after mixing well, turn down the heat, and add the nori.
