Alice was sitting by the river. Suddenly she saw a white rabbit. The rabbit looked at his watch and said, "I'm late. I'm late." He ran into a hole in the ground and disappeared. She followed him.
Alice fell into the hole. Down, down, down she fell.
"How long will I fall?" she thought. Then Alice hit the bottom. She was in Wonderland.
Alice was walking around Wonderland. She saw a big egg on a high wall.
The egg said, "I'm Humpty Dumpty. What's your name, little girl?"
"My name is Alice," she said.
"Alice? What does it mean?"
"Does a name have a meaning?" she asked.
"Of course it does. My name means my shape."
"I see," Alice said.
"Anyway, I like your belt. It's very nice."
"My belt? My belt! It is not a belt. It is a tie. It's around my neck."
"Well, it's a very nice tie, too."
Alice looked around. "The wall is very high. Please be careful," she said. "Do you know this song?" she asked.
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall. Humpty Dumpty had a great fall,
"Stop!" cried Humpty Dumpty. "Don't sing that terrible song. I don't like it at all."
