Christmas Colors is a Christmas lesson/activity suitable for 1st-3rd grade elementary students. It's best for teaching new Christmas vocabulary and colors to lower grade level students. It employs a variation of the Keyword Game.
Preparation
- Download and print out the Christmas Colors picture cards (lamination optional)
Instructions
- First, teach students the various colors. Then teach the various Christmas words (Santa, ball, candle, bell, tree, present, lights, reindeer, snow, night).
- Then try having the students stack the words together (e.g. "red Santa", "pink ball", "orange candle", etc.)
- Once the students are comfortable with the words and colors, use the picture cards to play a Christmas version of Keyword Game.
