Christmas Criss-Cross

Instructions

Print 3 copies of the file, cut out the cards, fold them, laminate them, and cut them out again (leaving a little bit of laminate on the edges so the cards don't come apart).

Directions

  • This is a variation of the Josh's Pacman Kriss-Kross game.

This is like your standard criss cross game, but better. In typical criss cross style, get all the students to stand up and then ask a question. The first student to raise their hand and correctly answer the question gets to pull a card from the deck. Here are the rules for each card:

  • The North Pole - the line of students sits down (up and down)
  • Candy Cane - the row of students sits down (side to side)
  • Christmas Tree - the diagonal of students sits down (students can choose the direction, or you can do both ways to make a tree.
  • Snowflake - one student on each diagonal of the student who pulls the card sits down (small X)
  • Santa's Naughty and Nice List - the student chooses one other student to sit down, and one to stand up again.
  • Santa - student has 5 seconds to touch desks of standing students, and those students can sit down.
  • The Grinch - student has 5 seconds to touch desks of seated students, and those students must stand up again.
  • Gift - student receives a Christmas gift! You can choose the number of these you put in the deck. I bought a bunch of small Christmas bags from Daiso and added some candy, chocolate, and stickers to it.
