Takanosu Lutheran Brethren Church
Located in Takanosu, Kitaakita City. Serivice 4-5:30pm on Sundays (later because the pastor also serves in Odate). Refreshment time after the service.
Aikawa Lutheran Brethren Church

Located in Aikawa, Kitaakita City. Pastor Obara also runs an eikaiwa on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 PM at the church, and they love having ALTs visit with them! Service 11:00-12:30 on Sundays, with refreshment time after.

Akita Bible Baptist Church （秋聖書バプテスト教会）
The pastor is an American and his wife is also fluent in English. The service is in Japanese, but the slides used during the service are bilingual.

Oiwake Seventh Day Adventist Church
Located a few minutes away from the education center.
Tsuchizaki Gloria Chapel (土崎グローリアチャペル) Website
One of the biggest churches in Akita, and it has a more young people. According to their website, they offer English translation. They also have a Hula ministry! Service starts at 10:30 on Sundays. Map
Kawabe Home Chapel, Lutheran Brethren (カワベホームチャペル) There are some English-speaking people there. It is inaccessible by public transit, but somewhat close to AIU. Services entirely in Japanese. Map
Akita Iijima Church of Christ (日本キリスト教団 秋田飯島教会) Website
Don't know any details about this church. Service is at 2:00 on Sundays. Located near Iijima JHS.

Pastor Saito and his wife are very kind people. This is a new church plant (April, 2014) supported by Yuzawa Bible Baptist. Service starts at 10:30 on Sundays. Map
Tohoku Bible Baptist Jumonji ChurchWebsite
Located just a short walk from Jumonji Station. Very cozy and friendly.
Ugo Church
Yuzawa Bible Baptist Church
Service is in Japanese, but there are some Church members that speak near fluent English. Very warm and welcoming. Service is on Sunday 10:30-noon. Located 2 buildings down from Hokuto Bank (The building with the big cross on it).
Yuzawa Church of Christ
Older church right across from city hall & power water. Haven't been to a service, but the members are older. Everyone was extremely friendly, and the pastor speaks pretty good English. Service is 10:30 on Sundays.
