Mr. Newman likes to do things for himself. He always wants to do something.
Today is Sunday. He is painting. It is easy for him to paint his house. Look! He is painting the walls now. He has been busy since this morning. Judy is helping him. "It's interesting to paint," she said.
Judy has a Japanese doll. It is named 'Sakura'. She brought it from Japan. She tried not to break the case. But it was broken on the way to America. Now, she wants a new one.
She said to her father, "Can I buy a new case for 'Sakura'?"
"You don't have to buy a case," said Mr. Newman, "I can make one for you."
"Oh, I'll be glad if you make one for me," said Judy.
Mr. Newman has made a lot of things before. Now he is trying to build a case for his daughter's doll.
Judy's friend came along. She found that Mr. Newman was making something in his yard. She asked, "Mr. Newman, what are you making?"
"I'm making a case for Judy's doll," answered Mr. Newman.
Mr. Newman showed the new case to Judy and her friend. "Have you ever seen such a nice case for a doll?" asked Mr. Newman.
"Oh, no, Father," said Judy, "I have never seen such a beautiful case before."
Mr. Newman smiled and said, "Oh, you like it. Thank you. I'm a little tired. I want to drink a cup of coffee. Will you make some coffee for me?"
