It is easy and fun to make turkeys on paper plates with a pencil and crayons. Make sure the plates are large enough for your kids' hands. For younger students, the ALT and HRT should trace the outline of the student's hand, since students might not have the dexterity to trace their own hand. This activity is good for elementary school first graders and up.

Variations

  • Use markers, colored pencils, or crayons to color the turkeys.
  • Instead of coloring by hand, use glue and glitter (or other colorful objects) to create the body. In this case, first draw the outline and body parts lightly in pencil. Then use glue to add a color. Apply one color at a time, waiting until that color is dry before applying the next one.
