Once upon a time there lived a woman In a small village. She had one son and one daughter.
One day, when the woman was out in the garden, a tiger attacked and ate her. And then
it came into the house. The two children ran away. They ran and ran, but the tiger ran faster than the children. So they climbed up a tall tree.
But that tiger could climb very fast. It could climb the fastest of all the tigers in the country.
The children prayed to the god of heaven.
"Oh, god, please help us. Throw down a rope to us."
A rope came down from heaven. The boy and the girl went up into heaven.
When they reached heaven, the god said to them, "You, poor boy, become the sun. And you, poor girl, become the moon."
They became the sun and the moon. A day and a night passed. The girl said, "I don't like to go out when it is dark." So her brother became the moon, and she became the sun.
The girl was glad for a while. But everybody on the earth looked up at her, and she did not like that. She was too shy.
Her brother said, "You should make a strong light." The girl made a strong light, and then everybody stopped looking up at her.
Now you can look at the moon as long as you like, but you can not look at the sun.
