Hello, I’m Kevito. I’m a Canadian living in Akita City. I am not a JET Programme participant myself, but my wife is a JET, so I am connected to the Akita JET community through her and through life in Akita.
I arrived in Akita in November 2025 and have been learning more about the city, local services, transportation, events, and daily life in the area. I am also studying Japanese, including kana, basic grammar, and kanji.
Background
My background is mainly in technical and hands-on work. I studied physics and have experience with electronics repair, vehicle maintenance and fabrication, IT support, industrial equipment, and practical engineering problem-solving.
In Canada, I was also involved in community events and volunteer activities, particularly related to anime, Japanese culture, and event operations.
Connection to Akita
Since moving to Akita, I have been interested in learning more about the local community and everyday life in the city. I enjoy exploring local shops, restaurants, events, second-hand stores, and cultural activities.
I am also interested in connecting with people involved in education, technology, engineering, cars, music, anime/manga, and local community activities.
