Instructions

Copy one for each of your students.

Directions

  1. Students fill out the survey with their answers. Go through the questions one at a time and explain the meaning of some of the words.
  2. Students will stand up and make pairs. Each pair will write down the name of their partner at the bottom of the paper. They will ask each other questions to find out if their information matches. If they have the same answer, they will colour in a heart next to their partner's name. This should take 1-2 minutes per session. After they are finished, they change partners and start again.
  3. After 3-6 repetitions (feel out how many you think they should do), students will ask their best match out on a date using the conversation pattern on the second page. Have students repeat after you to practice the conversation first. If the student asks another student on a date and the student also has that person as their best match on their page, they will say "yes" to the date. If the student asking the date is not the other student's best match, they say "no" to the date.

If you have a funny group of kids, you might see your boys fixing themselves up before they go to ask. Same-sex dates are okay (they always ask). If they are finished and there is extra time, you can go over some of your favourite school-appropriate pick-up lines (I included some on the second page). My students especially liked the one about falling from Heaven.
