Description
- Create a checkerboard, 6 by 8.
- The vertical column is filled with daily activities: I went home, I went to the park, I came to school.
- The horizontal column is filled with infinitives: to read, to eat, to help children.
- Students place or draw their battleships on the board.
- Students play in pairs.
- Students take turns combining the daily activities with the infinitives.
- If they make a combination that hits a battleship, the other student says, "Hit!"
- If their combination misses, the other student says, "Miss!"
- If they hit all the squares of the other student's battleship, the other student says, "Hit and Sunk!"
Takes about 20 minutes.
Variations
- This game can be used with many grammar points, if they have two pieces. Just change labels on rows and columns.
