Preparation
- Buy binding rings from the 100 yen store.
- Prepare a Choose Your Own Adventure booklet (this involves a lot of creative energy).
- Print off a Choose Your Own Adventure worksheet for each student/or group.
Description
- Each day, students read one page of the booklet.
- Each page has 5 target verbs.
- Students must change these verbs from the present tense into the past tense and write the 5 sentences on their worksheets in the past tense.
- Then students must choose one of the options for the next class period and write this sentence in the future tense on their worksheet.
Notes
- If you use the sample booklet as a template, it will be easy to construct a 30 page book. Unfortunately, I don't know how to fix the dotted lines so that they won't move as you type.
- In order to write a book, write each page, and list three options. Use the first available page numbers.
- If page 1 has 3 options, option 1 is page 2, option 2 is page 3 and option 3 is page 4
- If page 2 has 3 options, opiton 1 is page 5, option 2 is page 6 and option 3 is page 7
- If page 3 has 2 unique options and one option that is the same as page 2, option 1 is page 8, option 2 is page 9 and option 3 is page 6.
- If you write your stories about local places and local events and local people, it will make this activity more interesting for your students.
