Preparation
Make a worksheet with a goalkeeper and a net with a 3x5 grid of different things you can either like, play or have (drums, tea, a computer, bike, cola, soccer, fish, badminton, cell phone).
Directions
- Each student must secretly mark each picture and say a statement – either ‘I like/play/have ___’ or ‘I don’t like/play/have ___.’
- If the picture is maru it has to be a positive statement, if batsu it has to be a negative statement.
- Student 2 must look at their picture- if it is maru they say a positive statement; batsu they say a negative statement.
- If the statements are the same, then no goal is scored.
- If the statements are different then student 1 scores a goal.
- Then they change and student 2 shoots. Do this until all 15 objects have been covered and see who is the winner.
