Preparation
- Make a set of cards, each of which has a task on it beginning: ‘Find someone who’, put the present perfect. Make 10 different cards, 4 copies of each.
- Find someone who has been to Disneyland.
- Find someone who has had a car accident.
- Make a sheet for students to write down answers.
Description
- Show an example. Suppose you have a card, "ride an elephant". Interview several students. "Have you ever ridden an elephant? Yes, I have./No, I haven't." If the person, say, Karen, has done so, write "Karen has ridden an elephant." on the board. If nobody has, write "Nobody has ridden an elephant." on the board.
- Give everyone an answer sheet.
- Now have students do what you did. Give everyone a card. They stand up, walk around, and try to find people who did the given task. Then, they write the answer on their sheet. After they finish the card, they get a new card.
- See how many cards they can finish in 10 minutes.
- Check the answers at the end. Ask the class, "Has anyone ever ...?" Students get 1 point for a correct answer, minus 1 point for a wrong answer, and 0 for a blank.
