- Each student is given a card with some information on it.
- Students walk around and ask each other questions to find out who belongs in the same group as they do. For example, if a card says, "high school, Japan, volleyball", then the student must ask others, "Are you a high school student?" or "Are you from Japan?" or "Are you a member of the volleyball team?"
- Students who answer "yes" to all three of these questions belong to the same group.
- When all the members of the group have gathered, they sit down.
- The first group to get the prescribed number of members, wins.
