  1. Students look at a tray with about 20 different items, which can be defined by a variety of singular and plural nouns. They should only get 1-2 minutes to see what is on the tray.
  2. Then cover the tray with a cloth to hide it.
  3. Ask them to recall and write down as many of the objects as they can -- with the appropriate article ("a" or "an") or word ending ("s" or "es").
