You need flashcards. For example, a bike/bicycles, dog/dogs, CD/CD’s, bag/bags, vending machine/vending machines, book/books, pen/pens, pencil/pencils, hand/hands, eye/eyes, ear/ears, boy/boys, girl/girls, student/students, box/boxes, bus/buses, city/cities.

Setup

  • Put the students into groups of 6 without their desks. They sit in a circle without their chairs or on the floor.
  • Hand out sets of flashcards to each group.
  • Students janken for one winner.
  • The winner gets the set of flashcards.

Game

  1. The winner gives one flashcard to each student.
  2. Each student holds one flashcard in front of them, so that all the other students in the circle can see it.
  3. The student to the left of the Janken winner goes first and must say, “I have a _____.” Or “I have two ____.”
  4. If the student forgets to add “S”, all the students must say “Sssssssssssssssssssss” as loudly as they can.
  5. Then, it is the next student’s turn.
  6. Once everyone has had a turn, the winner gives the flashcards to another student to shuffle and deal out.
  7. Repeat from #1.
