Target level | JHS 1 |
Preparation
- Write the names of all students in the class on small slips of paper. Include teacher's names.
Notes
- This activity is best used as a review self-introduction. Because students have to think deeply about what they are going to say, it is best if they are already familiar with how they are going to say it.
- This activity requires students to think on their feet.
Description
- Pass out the slips of paper with names written on them.
- Students must pretend to be whoever's name is written on the slip of paper.
- Students circulate the classroom and janken. The loser gives the self-introduction of the person s/he is impersonating, but s/he can't say the name of the person s/he is impersonating.
- After giving the self-introduction, the s/he asks, "Who am I?"
- The janken winner guesses.
- If the janken winner guesses correctly, s/he gets a point.
- If the janken winner guesses incorrectly, the students switch roles.
