Preparation
You will need a recording of a series of sounds (footsteps, running water, a door slamming).
Directions
- Play the sequence of sounds to the students.
- Ask them what sort of think they think are going on. Eg. A man is running across the room Someone is washing their hands.
- Then replay the sequence. Stop after every few seconds and ask the students to write down what they think is happening.
- At the end, they should get together in pairs or groups to see if they have a coherent series of events that explain the sequence of sounds.
- Have the students share their versions.
