A fun JHS warmup activity where the students throw a ball to each other while asking and answering questions.
Preparation
- Get a soft ball
- Have a stopwatch
- A sheet to keep a record of how many questions were answered.
Description
- All students stand up.
- The ALT throws the ball to a student and asks him/her a question.
- The student answers the question and then throws the ball to another student.
- The first student must ask the new student a question and then can sit down.
- Continue from #3.
- Play this game for 2 or 3 minutes, then count how many people are sitting down. The students can try to beat this number the next day.
Variation
- Introduce a pass option for kids who refuse to speak/can't form a sentence.
- Students can't ask the same questions.
