Mid-Year Conference 2009

The 2009 Mid-year Conference was on October 15th and 16th (Thursday and Friday) at the Akita Prefectural Education Center in Tenno.
Workshop I
Workshop I is a discussion session. A while after the conference, the PAs will produce a report summarizing important discussion issues.
Workshop II
- Coaching for the Speech Contest (Kamakura). Presenter: Pat Costello.
- New Horizon Bengali (Sugi). Presenters: Tapo Mandal & Soma Podder.
- Elementary School Activities (Kanto). Presenters: Maureen McCarthy & Tina Schoolman.
- Incorporating Culture into the Classroom (Komachi). Presenters: Mari Christmas, Yosan Legaspi, Chris Collins, Lindsay Tsuji, & Joylene Medom.
Workshop III
- Phonics (Kamakura). Presenter: Rob Evans.
- Phonics (Sugi). Presenter: Ryan Lidster.
- Elementary Activities (Kanto). Presenters: Tina Schoolman & Maureen McCarthy.
- The High School Classroom (Komachi). Presenter: Renaud Davies.

- Micro Teaching (Minami). Teachers: Bess Anderson & Kazue Shoji, Michael Culler & Akiko Abe.
- Micro Teaching (Chuo). Teachers: Abby Trott & Satoshi Togashi, Douglas Perkins & Masami Murakami.
- Micro Teaching (Kita). Teachers: Rob Evans & Makiko Kobayashi, Alicia Miller & Maiko Yamada.
