Roadside Station - Futatsui
The Roadside Station - Futatsui (道の駅ふたつい; Michi no Eki Futatsui), also named Kimimachi Village (きみまちの里; Kimimachi no Sato), is a Roadside Station on the Route 7 in Futatsui, Noshiro. It's located on the right if travelling west from Noshiro.
The Futatsui Roadside Station is the Meet Spot for Futatsui Town (See Hiking).
Old Roadside Station
The old roadside station was affectionately known to the locals as "The Million Dollar Toilet." If you are travelling west from Noshiro, it used to be located on the left hand side of the road, just before the T-intersection with Route 3. Again, if travelling west, on the right hand side of the road, you will see Ya-Ya/New Bambi, easy to spot because of the giant bowling pin on its roof.
This Roadside Station is scheduled to be demolished and reconstructed across the street in order to clear the way for the highway connecting Odate-Noshiro Airport and Futatsui Shirakami. While it has not yet been demolished, the old site has been closed to public.
