Block Cup

Starting in the Spring of 2024, Block Cup is an annual event for Akita JETs to get together and prove which block is truly the best in Akita prefecture. All participants donate to their block's charity of choice. The winning block receives the money from all other blocks, and Charity Akita donates it to its chosen Charity!

Overview

Location

Block Cup occurs in late spring at the Akita Central Park Field Athletic Center, an athletic park near Akita Airport. It is about a five-minute drive from Akita International University and a 25-minute drive from Akita Station.

Games

Games include ultimate frisbee, tug-of-war, relays, trivia, and a full-fledged obstacle course. Each block scores points, and the team with the most points wins a trophy at the end that they can flaunt around and show all of Akita that they are number 1… Until the next year, when they will be challenged again.
