Junior High School Athletic Competition

The Junior High School Athletic Competition (中学校総合体育大会; chūgakkō sōgō taiiku taikai) is an annual competition in Akita and other prefectures of Japan. It is often referred to as sports competition in English, or sōtai (総体) in Japanese. In Akita, the prefecture is divided into 9 areas, and the schools compete against each other to progress to the All-Akita competition, held in mid July (2016: July 16th - 18th).

- 2018 - Oga-shi Sōtai (男鹿市総体) merged with Katagami Nanshu Sōtai (潟上南秋総体) to form Oga Katagami Nanshu Sōtai (男鹿潟上南秋総体)
- 2017 - 3rd weekend in June, except for Honjō Yuri which was 4th weekend
- 2016 - 3rd weekend in June, except for Kazuno which was 4th weekend
