Hokuōnomori Park (北欧の杜公園; hokuounomori kouen) is a Scandinavian Forest-style park located in the Aikawa area of Kitaakita City, not far from Takanosu.

Outdoor Activities

• Ground Golf
  • Hokuōnomori Park is host to an 18-hole, 66-par, 900 meter ground golf range. The ground golf range is open from April 20 to November 30 every year. General price of admission is ¥300 and only ¥200 for students. There are also two, 18-hole park golf courses.
• Frisbee Golf
  • Hokuōnomori Park also hosts an excellent frisbee golf course that is completely free to play. You can also borrow a regular, mid-range frisbee for free.
• Cycling
  • Hokuōnomori Park boasts several cycling courses through and around the park. They also rent bicycles for ¥500 (if I remember correctly!).
• Camping
  • Tucked away in the back of Hokuōnomori Park is a camp ground where you can enjoy barbecues and outdoor camping.

Restaurant

The lodge at Hokuonomori features a restaurant. The head chef used to work at Kogumatei in Ani. They serve a variety of rice bowls topped with horse meat and soy-sauce-flavored ramen. Other menu items include omelet rice, horse meat stew, etc.
