Fukui (福井県；-ken) is a prefecture in the Chubu region of Japan.
Obama City(小浜市)
Obama is a small-ish city in the south of Fukui prefecture. There is a nice park near the fishing port that has an easy hiking trail up to a decent vista of the port area. Sauce katsudon is the special food from this area. You can also buy a PLETHORA of items and omiyage related to the current US president.
Mikuni Town(三国町)
Mikuni is a small town in Northern Fukui prefecture. It's located just south of the Tojinbo suicide cliffs. Notable for its winter surfing, beaches, and relaxed atmosphere.

- Tojinbo Suicide cliffs (東尋坊)
- Basalt cliffs that stretch for about 1km of the Japan-sea coast. Made famous due both to the scenic beauty and the 25 or so suicides each year.
