Mie

From Akita Wiki

Mie (三重県;-ken) is a prefecture in the Chubu region of Japan.

Things to do

  • Ise Jingu (伊勢神宮): There are two shrines here claimed to be the most famous in Japan.
    • Geko (Toyoukedaijingu) is traditionally seen first housing Touke o Kami a god of agriculture.
    • Naiku (Kotaijingu) is traditionally seen second and houses Amaterasu o kami who is the sun goddess and considered the beginning of Emperor blood line. To walk to the shrine you have to walk through a very traditional Japanese town that is worth seeing just as much as the shrine grounds.
  • Edo Wonderland (Azuchi Momoyama Bunka Mura): Azuchi Momoyama Period theme park, Caslte town, performances
