Tottori
From Akita Wiki
Tottori (鳥取県; -ken) is a prefecture in the Chugoku region of Japan.
- Misasa Onsen Village (三朝温泉郷). Just over the border with Okayama prefecture. This quiet little town has some very nice onsens, all of which have some of the highest levels of naturally occurring radium and radon in the country.
- Goraku Onsen (後楽温泉). Located across the river from most of the hotels. This onsen is located in a traditional looking building, but the interior is quite modern and the bath facilities are quite nice. High levels of radium in this onsen though.
- Sand Dunes (鳥取砂丘 Tottori sakyū) are unique sand dunes located near Tottori City. They are the only large dune system (over 30 km²) in Japan. (http://www.nytimes.com/2006/08/23/world/asia/23japan.html - nytimes article about the dunes)
