- Greet the whole class, and then greet a few students individually.

- Think about what the pieces could be. Learn how to ask what something is and the words for each thing in English.
|
- Show the piece cards and ask "What's this?" Get them used to the phrase while you teach them the English words using "It's a/an ~". (You won't need the audio from the digital materials but using the interactive page might be easier than making piece cards).
- When you come across words that have been brought into Japanese, make them aware of the difference in pronunciation.
- Show them the whole cards and check the words once more.
- Don't explicitly teach the difference between "a" and "an". Say it naturally and let them pick it up when repeating.

- 誌面にある物の一部の絵から，それが何か考える。ある物が何かを尋ねる言い方と，ある物の英語での言い方を知る。
|
- 教師用絵カード（物の一部）を見せて，What's this? と尋ねる。児童から答えを引き出しながら，尋ね方 とそのある物の英語での言い方を，音声教材を聞かせて紹介する。
- bat やeraser，globe，glove を取り上げて，外来語とそのもととなる英語との音の違いに気付かせるようにする。
- 教師用絵カード（物の全体）を見せて，それが何かを確認する。
- a とan の使い分けについては特に指導はしないが，指導者は使い分けて言うことで，児童に繰り返し聞かせるようにする。
