  • Listen to the materials and say the worlds along with the picture cards.
  • Teacher will put the alphabet cards in order on the board. While listening to the materials, say together.

○ Stereo Game Version 2
  • Tell the students they are playing a different version of the stereo game.

➀ Get in lines and the even numbered kids and the last kid will prepare cards.
➁ The teacher will show three letters to the first kid in line (like "b,a,t" or "c,a,t")
➂ The first student will tell the second student the letters
➃ The second student will hear the letters and then from their own set of cards show the
   letters they heard to the third student.
➄ The third student will tell the fourth student the cards that were shown to him/her.
   Continue in this manner.
➅ The last student will pick the correct cards from their pile and put them on the board.
   Then they will say the letters out loud. Check.
○ Holding Alphabet Game
  • One of the students will pick 10 cards and hold them in their hands without showing them.
  • The other students will ask the first student, "Do you have ~?" (alphabet)
  • The student will reply with "Yes, I do./No, I don't"
  • Pick a student to then pick 10 of the alphabet cards.
  • The other 16 cards will be put up randomly on the blackboard.
  • At first the teacher will ask the student, "Do you have ~?", but after so many times the students will ask the first student.

  • Carefully look at pictures in the book, choose the letters that they have seen before, and write them in the table.
  • Explain the meaning of the various words in the picture.
  • Remind them that there are various fonts for all the letters.

○ Picking Alphabet Game
  • For the sake of knowing what letters the sign contains, the teacher will be asked, "Do you have ~?"
  • Based on what letters the teacher has, the students will pick which sign s/he is talking about.
  • From the pictures in the book, pick one of the signs.
  • Respond to the students' questions with either, "Yes, I do." or "No, I don't."
  • Based on the response of the teacher, arrange the letters on the blackboard in terms of the sign containing, or NOT containing that letter.
  • Repeat with various signs.

  • 伝言ゲームをすることを告げ，前時との違いを説明する。

【伝言ゲーム その２の進め方】
①列を作り，偶数番目及び，最後尾の児童は巻末児童用カードを用意する。
②指導者は，b, a, t やc, a, p など，３文字程度のアルファベット小文字カードを列の先頭児童に見せる。
③先頭児童は，指導者が示したカードのアルファベットを，２番目児童に口頭で伝える。
④２番目児童はそれを聞き，自分のアルファベット小文字カードから該当する３枚を選んで並べ，３番目児童に見せて伝える。
⑤３番目児童は，２番目が示したカードのアルファベットを，４番目児童に口頭で伝える。これを繰り返して伝えていく。
⑥列の最後尾児童が自分のアルファベット小文字カードから該当する文字のカードを選んで黒板に貼ったり，口頭で発表したりして答えを確かめる。
○「持っているアルファベットを当てよう。」
  • 代表児童１名は10枚の教師用カードを選んで見られないように手に持つ。
  • 代表児童が持つアルファベットを考え，Do you have ～? と一斉に代表児童に尋ねる。
  • 代表児童は，Yes, I do./No, I don’t. で答える。
  • 代表児童に，教師用カードから10枚を選ばせる。
  • 選ばない16枚を黒板に順不同に貼り，ほかの児童に何がないか考えさせる。
  • はじめは，指導者が代表児童にDo you have ～? で尋ね，何回か繰り返したらほかの児童にも一緒に尋ねさせる。

  • 誌面の絵をじっくり見て，見たことがあるアルファベット表示を選び，誌面の表にその文字を書き写す。
  • それぞれのアルファベット表示の意味を紹介する。
  • アルファベットの書体が様々あることに気付かせる。

○「選んだアルファベット表示を当てよう。」 p. 4, 5
  • 表示に何のアルファベットが含まれているのかを知るために，指導者にDo you have ～? で尋ねる。
  • 指導者の答えをもとにして，何の表示か言い当てる。
  • 誌面の絵の中からアルファベット表示を１つ選ぶ。
  • 児童の質問にYes, I do./No, I don’t.で答え，児童が尋ねる文字が，含まれる
  • 含まれないに分類して教師用カードを黒板に貼る。
  • 様々な表示について繰り返す。
